Suncoast Electric Motor Service was established in 1990 in Tampa, Florida. Until recently, the main emphasis of the company was rewinding and reconditioning of electric motors, generators and related equipment.

In early 1996, the company began providing vibration analysis, precision balancing and predictive maintenance monitoring. Our technical staff have been trained and certified by the Vibration Institute at Level 3. In 1998, the company added the field of variable frequency drives, providing planning, installations and repairs. Suncoast is a factory authorized warranty service center for Baldor drives and provides in-shop and on-site repairs for all major brands.

In 1999, Suncoast purchased "state-of-the-art" motor testing equipment for both shop and field-testing. In the spring of 2000, the company acquired the newest motor performance monitoring equipment from the recognized leader in test equipment, Baker Instruments Company. Suncoast can provide efficiency testing and trending of all AC motors.

Suncoast is a Florida corporation with 100% of the stock owned by William P. (Pat) Bannar, it's founder. Mr. Bannar holds diplomas from major accredited institutions for motor and electricity and has over 25 years continuous experience in the motor shop business. Mr. Bannar has recently been elected, by his peers, to serve as director of the State of Florida for EASA.

The company has developed a broad customer base, providing services for large and small industrial firms, the marine industry, several municipalities and numerous foreign accounts.

The predictive maintenance department provides complete trending and analysis for the HVAC industry and has many marine customers on a routine monitoring schedule. Precision balancing is provided for other motor shops, with field balancing services and complete failure analysis available as needed. Our skilled technicians have successfully balanced power generators on board sea-going ships both around this country and at foreign facilities.

Suncoast currently employs fifteen employees with a combined total of over 100 years of motor shop related experience. The company has enjoyed an annual growth rate of over 20% over the past five years and continued growth is indicated. The ownership and management take great pride in maintaining the highest level of quality control with customer satisfaction the driving force.
